Adversity… and a final post

So yesterday I got an email notifying me that this blog is about to expire.  Although it makes me sad, I also realize that it is probably time.  Delaney is doing fantastic!  She goes back once a month to have her labs checked and every time so far she has received a glowing review.  Besides that, she is doing well in school, still loving her legos, and is excited that her Denver Broncos made it to the Super Bowl!

On a different note, her sister Ashley created a project for school (click on link below).  The theme was adversity, and she chose to do it on her little sister Delaney.  I thought it made for a good final send off and we really can’t thank everyone for all the love and support we have received these past three years.

  5. Thank you for that lovely final post. I am crying tears of joy for you and your family. Ashley’s tribute to her little sister is so very sweet. The love in her voice says it all. Delaney is wise beyond her years. So sad that she had to go through this at such a young age but it definitely made her who she is today. She is so lucky to have such a wonderful family! You are a very special family. Hugs!!

  6. Hello Tom,
You might remember me. You were the angel who waited in the lobby at Children’s, to alert me to what we would be facing, with Luca’s surprise diagnosis of ALL. I am her grandma, and you helped to lead me through the minefield of things that had to be accomplished in order to bring our 2 year old home from the hospital. I think we were in shock, and had so much to learn so quickly. Without you, it would have been so much more difficult. I truly believe that not all angels have wings. Many thanks, and congratulations on your continuing success. Kathy Forster, Grosse Pointe, Michigan

  7. Go Ashley! Big hug to the whole family. I pray that your time in “The Hallway of Remission” is a) low anxiety always, b) one direction, and c) full of windows. 🙂 Lots of love Barb

  8. So thankful to God that Delaney is well! It’s still hard to believe she went through all of that at such a young age. Tell Ashley she did a great job on the video!! Love to your whole family from all of us.

  9. From a follower in Oz, I will be sad not to see your posts anymore. In saying that, I am also so grateful that I won’t be seeing your posts anymore! Make sense! Congratulations to Delaney on getting through the most horrid and tough time. You are so incredibly brave, have an amazing family, and I sincerely hope the rest of your life is cancer free, joyous, full of life, fun, etc, etc. I’m so glad I found your blog and have watched your gorgeous little girls’ journey. I introduced my 7 and 5 year old to Delaney tonight….they just couldn’t believe how brave she was and how she survived. A lesson for all of us. Thank you to the Stafford family for sharing your life. Wishing you all the very best for your future. Lots and lots of love….Pauline XXX
